Please attend a discussion onDental Health by a panel of dentists this coming Friday 10/14 at MAPS after Maghrib prayers at 7PM. The panel will address the importance of dental health and dental care for both children and adults and will take your questions.
Dr. Rehan Bashar
BDS, DDS, FICOI, FADIA, FAGD
FAMILY, COSMETIC & IMPLANT DENTISTRY
Dr. Rehan Bashar started his now distinguished career as a dental professional after graduating with a BDS degree on a commonwealth scholarship in 1993 from Sri Lanka. He was in private practice for the next four years. In 1997 he joined Dow Medical College, Karachi, as the Chief Resident, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Bashar continued his education at the prestigious Loma Linda University in Southern California to pursue his quest for knowledge. His talent has been noticed and won him the Clinical Excellence Award. He graduated with a DDS degree in 2002 and was one of the few individuals in the Endodontic Honors Program.
Dr. Bashar has been practicing dentistry in Seattle area since 2002. He believes in being on top of his profession and continues to pursue education every day. He obtained his Invisalign Orthodontic certification, is in a Implant Consortium and has attained his fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has also recently been awarded Fellowship of The Academy of General Dentistry.
When he is not working on teeth, you can find him spending time with his lovely wife Asma, cheering on his UW freshman son Danish and bubbly 11 year old daughter Hira, or at a local park flying radio controlled model airplanes.
Dr. Ahsen Nadeem
Dr. Nadeem needs little introduction. He is a 99% dentist completing his studies at University of Washington School of Dentistry, intending on entering General Dentistry with a sub-focus interest in oral surgery and prosthodontics. As a member of the American Dental Student Association (ASDA), an ethics and professionalism chair on both the UW Dental Student & Faculty Committee, and a member of the Muslim Health Professionals of Greater Puget Sound, he is heavily invested in performing my profession at the highest level of quality and integrity and also using it as a platform to give back to vulnerable in our community. He is also the Youth Director at MAPS (Masjid-ar-Rahmah) of a diverse and bright group of teenagers that he hopes will grow to feel comfortable in their identities, develop lasting friendships and give back to the disadvantaged in our community. His background includes graduating from the University of Washington with a BS in Microbiology, conducting research on quorum sensing in the Greenberg Microbiology lab and having a strong commitment to successfully leading undergraduate student organizations. Service to others through his profession or hobbies brings him great contentment in life and he hopes to continue to be a service to those around him in whatever capacity he can.
Dr. Yassin is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and former attending physician at Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, UW. He studied MSD in Periodontics and Dental Implants at University of Washington/Periodontics Department, Implant Dentistry at German Board of Oral Implantolog, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ministry of Health, Syria after completing his general dentistry at Aleppo University-Dental School. He is currently working at UW and has been actively involved with Muslim Health Professional (MHP).
