Jawaad Abdul Rahman, UPF’s Development Director, will be conducting the following workshops

Friday January 16th after Isha in Prayer hall:
Role of Film Making: We will explore the role and importance of film making by the Muslim community. We will look at how films can convey and celebrate the spiritual, social and intellectual contributions of Muslims in history. We will also discuss how Muslims can influence popular TV shows so that they avoid typical Muslim stereotypes.

Saturday January 17th at 10AM in MPR room:
Telling our Story: Our perceptions and life are shaped by stories that are told to us and that we tell. This workshop will share some famous stories from the Islamic tradition, examine story arcs, and engage the audience to tell their own stories. In anticipation of Black History Month in February, we will also view  and discuss UPF’s “Prince Among Slaves”. Teens and Young Adults are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop.
