Assalamu Alikom/ Peace be On you,

MAPS-MCOC is partnering with Wandering Reel Traveling Film Festival on a very exciting event on November 11th. Event is open for public, all are welcome. Enjoy a collection of short movies that touch our daily lives and bring communities together.

“The Tables”

Documentary ~ 15 minutes


A look at the powerful connection between a pair of outdoor ping pong tables in the heart of New York City and the unlikely group of people they’ve brought together, from homeless people to investment bankers to gangbangers.

“Big City”

Narrative ~ 9 minutes

A short film about making a friend on the ride home.


“Light Sight”

Animation ~ 7 minutes

An imprisoned character in a room is attracted to a hanging light and tries to catch it. But the room itself becomes an obstacle on his way.


“Mare Nostrum”

Narrative ~ 13 minutes

On a Mediterranean shore, a Syrian father makes a decision that puts his daughter’s life at risk.


“The Fifth Season”

Documentary ~ 15 minutes

Ziad Khadash, a graduate of the refugee camp Jalazone, is a Palestinian writer who teaches creative writing at an elementary school in Ramallah. He teaches his pupils about freedom, to rebel against their education system and to defy the rules of the school. More than anything- he wants to bring them to this sea, the big sea.

“Bende Sira” (It’s My Turn)

A declaration of love to cinema, a play between kids in an urban surrounding.

Narrative ~ 10 minutes

Screening followed by a Q&A discussion with festival director, Michael Harrington.

Tickets: $5 – $10 (suggested donation)
